Overview
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is looking for a responsible Custodial Lead to maintain and protect our facilities. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Custodial Lead enthusiastically represents the YMCA by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. The Custodial Lead is also responsible for training new employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents and chemicals. The Custodial Lead will create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while working with a team and/or individually to help maintain the cleanliness of the facility and participate in the setup and take down of scheduled events.
Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities
- Maintaining clean facilities by performing daily/weekly/monthly duties in all areas of the building and grounds
- Duties to include but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, windows, mirrors, empty trash and recycling
- Clean sidewalks, parking lots and other outdoor areas of trash and debris
- Assist with snow removal
- Collect and/or remove soiled towels from the locker rooms and other parts of the facility
- Do laundry (towels, mop heads) throughout shift
- Restock consumables (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer) and other supplies
- Observing proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions
- Maintaining cleaning equipment
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment
- Assisting with event preparations and cleaning up
- Interacting with members, staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner
- May require various shift assignments
- Basic pool chemical checking
- Assists Custodial Supervisor with Facility audits
- Report any building damage or mechanical deficiencies to Custodian Director
- Contributes to the overall success of the assigned department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Provides continuity of custodial services under emergency conditions or unique circumstances by performing custodial duties directly related to the emergency conditions or as the situation dictates
- Ensures that the quality of custodial services meets established guidelines by inspecting the work of custodial personnel and directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary to meet those guidelines
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of experience in custodial services, which includes knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and supplies required.
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to adjust schedules to suit the needs of the organization
- Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services
- Physically agile and dexterous
- Basic math skills
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents
- Outstanding organizational skills

Posted Salary Range
USD $16.00 - USD $19.20 /Hr.Salary : $16 - $19
