Overview
The Lifeguard & Waterfront Specialist / Cabin Counselor is responsible for the daily operation of the waterfront, including the cabin safety and supervision of swimmers. The Lifeguard & Waterfront Specialist/Cabin Counselor leads and lives in a cabin of up to 7 campers.

Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers, staff and volunteers in waterfront area and cabins
- Assist campers with achieving their goals
- Responsible for supervision in waterfront and water inflatables
- Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate boating lesson plans (if applicable)
- Plan and implement age appropriate swim lessons. Develop weekly lesson plans to be approved by Aquatics Director
- Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available
- Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; meal times; and before/after-hours duties as assigned
- Attend and participate in Lifeguard Training and All Staff Training
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Lifeguarding experience required
- Must possess current certifications in lifeguarding Waterfront Module and professional CPR and First Aid; Waterfront Safety Instruction preferred
- Have knowledge in the safety, skill instruction and ability to understand emergency procedures in a waterfront setting
- Must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff
