Overview
The Unit Leader is responsible for the supervision of cabin counselors and their campers within a specific unit. The Unit Leader works closely with the Parent Liaison, Mental Health Professional, and Nurse to assist campers with provide a positive camp experience.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the general safety and direct supervision staff in unit as well as their campers.
- Check in with staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Create and implement evening activities and special events.
- Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
- Oversee daily inspection for unit.
- Submit written performance evaluation of staff twice a summer.
- Assist with Trading Post.
- Assist with tractor rides.
- Assist with overnights.
- Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; attendance; meal times; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.
- Attend and participate in Administration Staff Training and All Staff Training.
Qualifications
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- Ability to supervise and lead a group of campers.
- Ability to manage 5-8 staff members.
- Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.
- Must be able to work independently and not need to be micromanaged.
- Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
- Must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.
