POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, and a residential camp, serving more than 50,000 annually. In this role, staff member will welcome guests to Snow Mountain Ranch Guest Campgrounds, help them get checked into their campsites, provide helpful details and information about our facility, provide general grounds maintenance to the campgrounds, assist in maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities serving the campground’s guests, and provide supervision over seasonal staff and volunteers assigned to the guest campgrounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the opening of the guest campgrounds for the summer camping season.
- Provide daily supervision of all seasonal staff and volunteers assigned to the Guest Campgrounds, ensuring that all responsibilities are assigned and completed as needed.
- Create schedules for all staff and volunteers that cover the hours staff/volunteer service is provided to guests staying in the campgrounds.
- Provide training to new staff and volunteers as they arrive throughout the summer.
- Working with the Assistant Guest Registration Director, ensure hours for all staff and volunteers are accurately reported in Paycom (Human Resources software) and approved for each pay period.
- Confirm guest arrivals, departures and daily changes using Snow Mountain Ranch’s Property Management system pertaining to the campgrounds.
- Welcome arriving guests and help them get settled into their campsites.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Assistant Guest Registration Director to report campgrounds needs and challenges.
- Assist with the daily cleaning of Guest Campgrounds' guest bathrooms, shower houses and campsites.
- Assist with daily maintenance of the grounds, including cutting grass, weed whacking, pulling weeds, watering plants, maintaining bird feeders, and general upkeep of the campgrounds.
- Respond to guest issues and complaints in a friendly, timely and professional manner.
- Take requests from guests for maintenance or other services and pass requests to appropriate staff for follow up.
- Handle emergencies that may arise in the Guest Campgrounds.
- Maintain the operation of fire pits and gas grills.
- Assist with the cleaning of fire pits and vegetation at the yurt villages.
- Provide spot checking of the yurt village bathhouses.
- Work with guests and staff to resolve any issues that arise.
- Alert Front Desk and/or maintenance to possible problems (fires, trespassing, safety, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED equivalence is required.
- Demonstrated ability to fluently read, write and speak English.
- Able to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Possess the ability to respond to problems, concerns and emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
- Possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills; for example, friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
- Able to provide helpful, caring and effective direction to all staff and volunteers under your supervision.
- Must possess a valid, USA issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
- Ability to drive or learn to drive a golf cart.
- Able to operate a computer and perform basic functions in our Property Management System.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about a variety of RVs.
- Able to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn small maintenance and repair jobs.
- It is recommended but not required to have an RV to live in during the summer season. However, on site staff housing is available as an alternative if you do not have an RV.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Able to walk over uneven and rough terrain.
- Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. up to 36” above ground.
- Able to bend, walk and stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Able to perform a variety of demanding physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
