Seeking teachers for our before and after School Age Child Development Program at Southern York County Elementary Schools, Stewartstown Elementary School, and Red Lion Area Elementary Schools. Hours available are approximately 6 : 30am-9am and / or 3 : 00pm-6pm.
Employees enjoy FREE use of the facilities at all branches, including our outdoor pools, gym, and wellness center. Program discounts include FREE use of Child Watch up to 3 hours per day or Camp / School-Aged Child Care for your own children while you're working, and discounts on programs and lessons. Full-time and Regular Part-time Employees accrue PTO after their first month and receive free membership for their family!
Minimum of a High School Diploma and documented 2500 hours working with children. Less hours are required with higher education.

Provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Implements purposeful programming and curriculum within the established guidelines and is prepared in advance of each lesson / activity.
- Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
- Actively guides children in developmentally appropriate appropriate play and routines.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child to provide feedback and create purposeful activities to meet the needs of the individual and group.
- Provides positive descriptive feedback to prevent and redirect challenging behaviors.
- Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication
with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
