Title : Youth Development Regional Director - Hernando School Age Programs
Reports to : Senior Program Director
FLSA : Full-time, Non-Exempt
Leader Level : Team Leader
Salary Range : $17.50 / hr.
Supervises : Youth Development Directors and Volunteers
Position Summary
This position is responsible for all duties necessary to support School Age Programs general administration of the programs to ensure high quality service to children, parents and support staff. This position includes supervision, budgeting, expense control, income generation, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long-range planning and facility maintenance. The Youth Development Regional Director also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board.
Core and Strategic Functions
High Quality Programs, Services and Facilities
Direct and administer total operation of the School Age Program sites assigned including the interpretation and execution of established policies, the development of procedures and methods, staffing, evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and operation
- Assure that a wide variety of programs and activities are provided that maximize the site, support the cause and enhance program participants.
- Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment by keeping supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.
- Promote and monitor membership and / or program growth, taking a leadership role in membership cultivation and retention
- Assure facilitated activities are safe, engaging and age appropriate for program participants
- Responsible for reviewing all records and data on each child, employee and volunteer to maintain accuracy
- Responsible for effectively handling all emergency incidents and submitting proper documentation that may occur in YMCA programs, using mature, sound judgment

Position Qualifications

High school diploma required. B.S. or B.A. degree preferred in related field. At least two years of childcare and supervisory / leadership experience required. YMCA experience preferred. Must have a FCCPC and Florida Credential or be willing to enroll within 90 days of employment and completed within 1 year of enrollment. CPR / AED and First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment and be at least 21 years of age or older. Must possess skills to operate standard office and computer equipment and have the ability to relate to diverse groups from all social economic segments of community is essential. Must be capable of working under pressure as well as organizing and planning efficiently. Must be mentally alert, able to process and follow directions and remain friendly and professional at all times. Must be able to observe and communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers. Must meet YMCA of the Suncoast driving criteria. Must be ale to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms. May be required to sit for extended periods of time while performing job functions and must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time, paying attention to detail.
