POSITION SUMMARY :
The Camp Sea Gull & Camp Seafarer Security Officer demonstrates excellent customer service at our front gate while managing access to the grounds. The Security Officer will also support Camp wide asset preservation by making regular rounds while on duty. The Security Officer will be the initial liaison with emergency management, as needed.
They are responsible for managing those functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and the Board of Directors of the YMCA. The salary for this position is $20.50 / hour. Hours available for work are flexible, Monday thru Sunday. Shifts are capped at 12 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Provide high quality interactions with all individuals seeking access to the camp's grounds, ensuring that access is granted when permissible.
- Understands all Emergency Action Plans and be capable of communicating with camp leadership and emergency services personnel during emergencies.
- Manage car tag system identifying visitors before giving access to campgrounds.
- Always demonstrate an "at the ready" demeanor while stationed at entry gatehouse.
- Perform scheduled observations around campgrounds ensuring major assets, such as boats in the water are not needing attention.
- Serve as first point of contact for emergency services with ability to meet and escort to specific locations on camp grounds.
- Serve as a resource for security related issues as needed.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
