What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Crew-Camp Sea Gull position at YMCA OF THE TRIANGLE AREA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Golf Course Crew role performs all duties as assigned by the Facilities Director as well as ensures safety, cleanliness, and proper use or care of equipment at all times. They are responsible for maintaining greens, sand traps, fairways and rough. These responsibilities are managed in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Mows greens on a regular schedule in a manner consistent with course standards.
- Grooms sand traps and filling with sand as needed.
- Assists with the mowing of fairways and roughs.
- Waters greens on a regular schedule to promote growth.
- Performs all preventative maintenance required on equipment and assist with the repairing of all equipment used on the golf course
- Assists in keeping grounds clean, maintained and functional for all participants; to include operating mowers, weed eaters, clippers, etc.
- Assists in team efforts with essential seasonal site preparations, shut downs, and unplanned events such as storm damage cleanup and repair.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by Facilities Director or Assistant Facilities Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Experience in golf course maintenance, facility maintenance, or related work.
Ability to operate specialized maintenance equipment and lawn maintenance equipment, and perform general maintenance.
Ability to read and follow oral and written directions.
The position requires the ability to work with applications on electronic devices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Positive attitude and enjoying working in a team-oriented environment is essential to success.
Multi-lingual desired but not required.

Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
