Site Coordinator-Tracking Out-Taylor Family YMCA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Youth Director, the Track Out and After School Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading track out and after school programming while supervising the program staff. They are responsible for managing the functions of the program in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains an open line of communication with the program director staff, campers and parents to develop strong, positive relationships.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Assists in supervising, training and evaluating Track Out and Day Camp staff.
• Direct Program Oversight to include planning and organization of Track Out and Day Camp programs.
• Responsible for creating daily schedules and placing staff in activities and huddles where they are able to grow and be successful
• Assists Director in the preparation for staff meetings and training of staff at all staff meetings.
• Collaborates with the Director in planning, coaching, facilitating activities & assemblies, and communicating with staff in assigned program area.
• Assists Director in the creation and distribution of daily, weekly and monthly parent communication.
• Attends weekly and monthly meetings with Youth Director to identify areas for growth and improvement in assigned program.
• Ensures that the program is safe and follows all safety procedures and standards.
• Nights and weekends may be required throughout the calendar year.
• Assists Director with coordinating camper field trips.
• Supports with Taylor YMCA school programs as needed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required with 2 years of experience working with youth preferred.
• Previous experience in program development, personal development and supervision of staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. 
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Strong programming, communication, public speaking, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to assist in the management of the facility, equipment, and staff.
• Must obtain certifications through the YMCA in Basic Life Support/First Aid and Emergency Oxygen within first 30 days of hire.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Multi-lingual desired but not required.
