Seeking an experienced leader as the Montessori Preschool Director at the established Lake Geneva Montessori School in Lake Geneva, WI.

Job Description

The Preschool Director will be responsible for the leadership and administrative duties of managing and scheduling staff, teaching, day-to-day operations of the school, overseeing school registration and enrollment, and speaking with parents with any questions or concerns regarding their child's early Montessori education.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 21 years of age. Have completed high school or its equivalent as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, have at least 2 years of experience as a child care teacher or center director in a group child care center or other approved setting.
  • Strong leadership, exceptional written and verbal communication skills with both children and adults and an aptitude for creating a warm and benevolent team culture.
  • Two or more years of supervisory or administrative experience in early childhood education setting.
  • Familiarity with the Montessori Method of Education or a Montessori certification is preferred. Training is provided if necessary.
  • Must complete and clear a background/criminal history check.
  • Pre-hire: Completion of the YMCA’s Praesidium Child Abuse Prevention courses
  • Current Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred, provided by YMCA upon hire within 60 days.

Essential Functions

  • As the Montessori Preschool Director, you will report to the Senior Youth and Family Director at the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA.
  • Perform classroom teaching duties and/or when temporary vacancies present (subbing)
  • Provide answers, directions, and assistance for parents and teachers.
  • Maintain all licensing documents (including child and staff records) and meet all licensing expectations and rules. Work with DCFS licensing consultant to ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and maintenance of license. Be familiar with emergency procedures and protocols as well as licensing rules and regulations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and manage Montessori staff
  • Develop and maintain the continuity and excellence of the school
  • Facilitate and execute annual registration and oversee tuition payments
  • Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Recommend purchases of instructional materials and teaching materials
  • Plan and develop professional development and training opportunities for all teaching staff
  • Provide an annual performance appraisal to all staff
  • Facilitate and lead monthly team/staff meetings
  • Meet with the Senior Youth and Family Director as scheduled
  • Additional duties assigned.

Preferred Bacholor Degree
