Day Camp Counselor-Part Time
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director and in alignment with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Day Camp/Adventure Club Counselor provides program leadership for a day camp group. This individual assists the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director with various branch activities, including special events and other occurrences.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director and in alignment with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Day Camp/Adventure Club Counselor provides program leadership for a day camp group. This individual assists the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director with various branch activities, including special events and other occurrences.
- Leadership for a specific camper group.
- Maintenance of discipline within the camper group.
- Execution of emergency procedures in case of accidents.
- Remainder with the camper group at all times.
- Planning and implementation of open period activities.
- Maintenance of camp equipment.
- Maintenance of reports and attendance records.
- Adherence to established camp procedures and guidelines.
- Pursuit of the YMCA mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
- Exposure to small structured groups.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Interest in children and significant evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity, and leadership capability.
- Aptitude to create and work within a Christian environment, ensuring each camper has the opportunity for spiritual growth.
- Able to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Ability to perform carrying, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25lbs), and walking.
- To provide a safe and engaging environment for campers.
- To maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm throughout the day.
- To be a positive role model and set a good example for campers.
- To communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff.
Salary : $10
