The Waterfront Director will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising a safe and fun aquatic program at YMCA Camp Cherokee. Key responsibilities include:
The Waterfront Director must possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to use sound judgment in decision-making. A background in aquatics or a related field is preferred, as is certification in first aid and CPR.
The Waterfront Director will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising a safe and fun aquatic program at YMCA Camp Cherokee. Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively evaluating swim levels of all campers and staff members;
- Implementing creative aquatic classes;
- Assisting staff members in writing lesson plans for aquatic classes;
- Providing an effective swim lesson class for campers with entry-level swim skills;
- Focusing on skill development for campers and staff involved in the waterfront program (swimming and boating);
- Training and supervising waterfront staff/counselor responsibilities;
- Ensuring lifeguards and counselors are providing a safe and high-quality aquatic experience.
