What are the responsibilities and job description for the After school program position at YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge?
Assists in the daily administration of the YMCA Magic Place After-School Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist students in completing daily homework assignments.
Check to make sure homework is done correctly.Help record and maintain the student information.Supervise and monitor participants during hand washing and bathroom breaks.
Supervise and monitor participants during indoor programming and free play.Supervise and monitor participants during outdoor programming and free play.
Provide appropriate First-Aid to participants as the need arises.Set up for nutritional snacks.Clean up areas after snacks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS Ability to read, interpret and communicate information effectivelyAbility to work alone or in groupsAbility to solve practical problemsAbility to sit and stand for long periods of timeAbility to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma.
One-year experience in childcare.
