Job Title: Heath & Fitness Department Locker Room Attendant/Custodian
FLSA Status: non-exempt
Status: Part Time
Reports to: Sports & Rec Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides member service as the men’s locker room attendant, including laundering towels, and cleaning including mopping, dusting, and trash removal, mirrors, shower rooms, work out area and other related responsibilities throughout HFD Locker Room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures locker room is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, vacuuming, shower cleaning, washing and drying towels, and general cleaning.
- Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
- Ensures property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Maintains member services while performing duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- minimum 18 years of age
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Customer Service experience
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Training required within 60 days of hire, Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens, CPR/AED, First Aid, New Staff Orientation, Y Leader certification
