Position Summary:
The Youth & Family Director plays a pivotal role overseeing our Youth and Family programs at the Mattapoisett YMCA. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Youth & Family Director will lead a dedicated team in alignment with the Y's priorities, protocols and values. Your responsibilities will include oversight of youth and family programs, including school age childcare and summer camp, staff supervision, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members.
Essential Functions:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Demonstrates a desire to serve others and fulfill a community need. Recruits volunteers and builds effective, supportive working relationships with them.

- Lead and inspire staff & volunteers, ensuring high morale and exceptional service delivery.
- Manage staffing administration and training requirements.
- Build relationships to promote the YMCA's mission and drive growth.
- Demonstrate personal growth, emotional maturity, and interpersonal skills.
- Initiate, maintain, and implement appropriate communications with parents/guardians to assure understanding of program goals and expectations
- Maintains accurate records and files of enrolled children & staff.
- Maintain program standards (YMCA, Department of Early Education & Care, Department of Public Health)
- Effectively manage data tracking and program budgets.
- Monitors areas for cleanliness, safety, and general appearance.
- Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic initiatives and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Education or related areas preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in school age childcare/youth related programs.
- Experience supervising or leading staff. 1-3 years preferred.
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of members and guests in a professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed.
- Ability to supervise, provide development opportunities, and evaluate staff.
- Ability to provide administrative support including record keeping and budget maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.
- Commitment to team and to equity, inclusion, and the YMCA's mission.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills exhibiting sensitivity, adaptability, professionalism, and articulation when dealing with others.
- Very organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and making sound decisions within the guidelines of the YMCA.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work enthusiastically within constantly changing priorities.
