Description
Summary : The Building Supervisor is responsible for the overall safety of guests and ensuring the guests have a positive experience and other duties as assigned by the Kewanee Branch Executive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as a role model to members and Y staff and live the YMCA mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement.
- Understands the emergency procedures and knows the location of emergency equipment.
- Responsible for general supervision of facilities and grounds.
- Establish and maintain good communication with staff, members and supervisor.
- Actively participate in maintaining all necessary certifications and obtaining further certifications when available for personal career development.
- Evaluate conditions and needs of assigned facilities as they pertain to the safety and preventative maintenance.
- Provide updates to Branch Executive to maintain adequate supply of inventory to complete tasks for assigned branches.
- Participate in working for special events and after hours building rentals.
- Follow up on complaints and concerns from staff as well as ensure all positions are covered during any absence.
- Inspect equipment as directed to make sure it is being used and maintained properly in attention to inspecting custodial work areas and addresses any concerns or complaints.
- Provide general supervision for the entire facility, including restrooms, locker rooms, membership desk, pool, and all exercise areas.
- Participate in YMCA financial development efforts.
- Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures of Kewanee YMCA.
- Regular and timely adherence to respective schedules / meetings.

Education and / or Experience : A high School diploma or equivalent is required and 3-5 years of supervision experience is preferred.
Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, curriculum, policy / procedure manuals, and financial documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA. Ability to communicate effectively to children, parents, members and non-members, and other staff.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Complete background check, child abuse prevention training, CPR / AED certification for infant, child and adult, and blood borne pathogens.
