What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Coordinator position at YMCA?
This position is responsible for assisting with the coordination, planning, administration, and supervision, of the after school child care and summer day camp programs. Position ensures compliance with all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) standards, applicable laws and regulations and local and national YMCA standards. This position ensures the safety and well-being of all children through staff training and evaluation, curriculum development and monitoring, parent involvement and outcome measurement evaluation surveys.
Position requires a high school diploma or GED, Child Development and/or related field and extensive experience working with school-age youth and child care development issues. Must meet TDFPS licensing standards for a child care center director.
1. Ensures compliance with all applicable TDFPS standards, laws and internal policies and procedures.
2. Coordinates usage and maintenance of vehicles utilized for the childcare program.
3. Coordinates and ensures purchase of snacks and supplies.
4. Ensures that program fees are collected in a timely manner and that support staff complete all required paperwork.
5. Processes all applications for financial aid scholarships and keeps statistical reports of such.
6. Provides direct supervision of childcare staff.
7. Submits monthly statistical data as needed.
8. Maintains current CPR/First Aid certification and other YMCA and licensing certifications as needed.
