What are the responsibilities and job description for the CrossFit Coach @ Pleasant Hill CrossFit / YMCA position at YMCA?
We are a growing CrossFit box within the Pleasant Hill YMCA. The idea behind our programming is GPP (general physical preparedness). We are training for life! We welcome all shapes, sizes and athletic abilities into our gym and every single member becomes a priority on day one.
POSITION SUMMARY :
These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay and Pleasant Hill CrossFit. The job of our coaches is to provide the best experience to our members every single day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Lead in coaching a minimum of 3 CrossFit classes weekly for both mornings and evenings.
2. Take on CrossFit personal training clients and 1-on-1 sessions (if applicable)
3. Create fitness program and workshop design as required.
4. Engage by greeting members and providing quality member service.
5. Maintain high standards of communication with supervisor, members, staff and volunteers.
6. Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all facility and equipment in the Fitness Centers.
7. Responsible for recording information as needed.
8. Respond to emergencies as needed.
9. Maintain Standards of Conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
10. Attend all department staff meetings and trainings specified by supervisor.
11. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Physically perform all skills required of a Group Specialty Instructor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities and mobility to quickly respond to emergencies
- Must occasionally lift up to 70 lbs
- Frequent bending & standing
