What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement position at YMCA?
The Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing a year round annual fund campaign and alumni engagement program. The position supports the Camp Tecumseh mission and helps to guide the organization's strategic direction. The director of development will work closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the Board of Directors to ensure the Camp’s stability and future, continual growth. We seek an innovative, organized, strategic, and engaging Development Director with a passion for the youth we serve, their families, and the multitude of other groups and organizations that value Camp Tecumseh during summer camps, outdoor adventures, and groups and conferences.
- Must be at least 21 years of age

- Must have strong communication skills which includes speaking, reading, and writing to collaborate with team members as well as external parties
- Must be someone who can develop and maintain relationships with those from all walks of life while having an engaging and dynamic manner about them that exudes a warm and positive way of thinking
- Must be flexible and adaptable in the presence of unforeseen circumstances, could be working hands on at the camp and then later be able to attend a business meeting at a country club
- Experience with Google Suite, Donation Software, Zoom, and social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
- Must be able to travel (mostly locally but could have the possibility of being out of the area)
Must be able to demonstrate capacity to work independently without close oversight, while also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority internally and externally - Must be willing to be trained to drive camp vehicles
- Must be able (or willing to be trained) to operate a golf cart or LSV (low-speed vehicle) in accordance with safety laws around Camp Tecumseh property.

- General Duties
- In collaboration with the Director of Development, provide direction, execution, and measurement of a comprehensive annual giving campaign and alumni engagement program.
- Implement and maintain best practices in the areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations as it relates to annual giving and alumni engagement.
- Plan and implement a variety of alumni gatherings and events.
- In collaboration with other staff, assist in gathering content and testimonies from Alumni for major print articles such as the Tecumseh Tales.
- Serve on various committees as appropriate as established by Director of Development, CEO, or Board of Directors
- Individual Donor Relationships
- Craft and execute a year round annual campaign. The plan should include leveraging Camp Tecumseh current events and cultivation activities.
- In collaboration with the Director of Development, support donor cultivation/stewardship managing a profile of 100 individual relationships.
- Identify and diversify prospects through research and discussions with existing donors twice per year.
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Development and Marketing Director for a well-rounded solicitation campaign and capitalize on other individual-focused opportunities.
- Foundation, Corporate, and Government Relationships
- Supports growth and sustains a thriving grants program securing investments from foundations and corporations with the Director of Development.
- Manage high-quality, tailored grant and report writing activities.
- Execute prospect research and outreach.
- Collaborate with co-workers to write grant applications.
- Events
- Execute fundraising and cultivation events at Camp and other locations developing effective working relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate and community leaders.
- Ensure event promotion, logistics, and follow-up are professionally planned and implemented.
- Establish new events to better engage camp alumni, current and prospective donors and community leaders.
- Create the overall event strategy that aligns with the organization and revenue goals.
