The Director of Men's Housing is responsible for overseeing the management, operations, and development of housing programs for men, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment. This role involves strategic planning, staff supervision, program development, and collaboration with community organizations to support residents' well-being and long-term stability.
KNOW HOW/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in education, human services, social services, business, or equivalent
- Securing grants and sponsorship opportunities
- Previous budget experience
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in housing programs, social services, or nonprofit management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of housing regulations, case management, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience managing budgets, grants, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.
- Oversee the daily operations of men's housing programs, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop and implement housing policies, procedures, and resident guidelines.
- Establish and monitor program goals to support resident success in securing permanent housing, employment, and personal development.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Managing relationship with the Coalition for the Homeless
- Completion of HUD and grant reports
- Managing resident files
- Supervising the Night/Weekend Crew
- Develop and oversee case management services, connecting residents to social services, job training, and other necessary support.
- Foster a community culture that promotes responsibility, respect, and personal growth
- Address resident concerns, conflicts, and crises in a timely and professional manner.
- Recruit, train, and supervise housing staff, case managers, and volunteers and performance evaluations
- Conduct regular one on one meetings, and a monthly resident meeting.
- Manage the housing budget, including rent collection, funding applications, and financial reporting.
- Seek funding opportunities and manage grants related to housing programs
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to housing occupancy, resident progress, and program outcomes.
- Coordinator maintenance request and repairs of resident rooms and shared spaces.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, social service agencies, and local government entities.
- Represent the program at community events, meetings, and advocacy efforts.
