KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
The YMCA is seeking a creative and dynamic Graphic Designer to join our Marketing and Communications team. The Graphic Designer will play a key role in developing visual content that reflects our mission, programs, and values. This position is responsible for producing a variety of print and digital materials, including social media graphics, flyers, banners, email templates, and more, to engage and inspire our community. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for design, storytelling, and the YMCA’s mission of strengthening the community.
This position will also assist with the design processes at our Print Shop, ensuring that all printed materials meet high standards of quality and consistency. The designer will work closely with the print shop team to prepare materials for production, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely delivery of print materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused organization.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software (Canva).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and produce digital and print materials, including flyers, social media graphics, banners, brochures, posters, and other promotional materials.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts for campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to the YMCA’s brand guidelines and reflect our mission and values.
- Manage design projects from concept through completion, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Work closely with other departments to understand their design needs and create customized solutions.
- Support multimedia and video content creation, including filming, editing, and production, as needed.
- Stay current with design trends and best practices to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of our visual content.
