Overview
The Marketing & Communications Intern’s responsibilities include copywriting, editing, project coordination, research, graphic design, and project support for the Y-USA Marketing and Communications department. The department leads the organization’s internal and external communications, reputation management, brand strategy and unification, and staff and volunteer engagement.
Duration: May 1, 2025 – August 1, 2025
Hours/week: 25-29 hours
Responsibilities
- Assist the Marketing & Communications team with copywriting, editing, proofreading, research, some graphic design and project support via website, social media, email and webinars
- Assist with the scheduling and publication of Y-USA content
- Contribute to discovery, strategy and brainstorm sessions
- Update project plans and track progress in excel and Smartsheet, as needed
- Supports meetings, which includes but is not limited to: scheduling, logistics, webinar set-up and technical assistance, preparing materials
- Attend departmental meetings and committee meetings, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communications team

This position provides operational support to the department to optimize its effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Acquiring a Bachelor’s degree with concentration in a Communications, Public Relations, Writing, or Marketing field is required
- Experience supporting a digital project is a plus
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required
- Ability to build relationships and work with staff at all levels within an organization
- Knowledge of graphic design tools, experience with Canva a plus
- Knowledge of social media CRMs a plus but not required
- Experience with basic video editing a plus but not required
