Job Description
Plans, directs and coordinates all aspects of Membership, Health and Wellness. The Membership, Health & Wellness Director must have an accurate assessment of the building functions, membership needs, personnel, programs and finances to ensure that the mission and goals of the Association are met. The Membership, Health & Wellness Director will demonstrate the character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at all times.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Team Leader Certification from Y-USA
- At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience required
- CPR / AED certifications required
- Ability to work and thrive as part of a cohesive team
- Strong interpersonal, customer services and networking skills necessary
- Ability to lift / move heavy equipment and clean when necessary
- Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends
- Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities
- Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
Essential Functions
Program / Department Responsibilities :
Act in a Public Relations capacity when communicating with members, potential members or anyone who enters the branchEstablishes annual departmental goals in Membership, Health & Wellness and Kidzone within context of agency goals and vision and ensure direct reports attain those goalsWorks with staff to understand retention through assessment of member needsDevelops and executes departmental short- and long-term work plans and programs, in conjunction with appropriate staff membersDevelops and recommends new programs, leagues, processes, partnerships, strategies, and approachesEnsure all requests, comments and / or complaints (Listen 360) are addressed quickly. Follow up to ensure task is completedEnsure all leads are followed up on and completed within timely mannerWork in conjunction with fellow staff to ensure the promotion and execution of special events around the branchDevelops and recommends new programs, processes, partnerships, strategies and approachesEnsures smooth and effective operation of program schedules and exceptional customer serviceCommunicates with management team and task forces to work collaboratively to realize strategic vision and operational excellenceRecommends changes in basic direction, structure, and / or organization of department, as necessaryMaintain all appropriate certifications including Y of the USA and ensure that all staff have the opportunity to do the sameBe proactive and create, implement and manage new systems, procedures, and processes to better meet the needs of our communityWork with leadership team to evaluate branch Emergency Action PlanIncrease revenue and engagement in all areas of membership, health& wellness, and programsSupervisory Responsibilities :
Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, supervise, and schedule membership, health & wellness, Kidzone and program teamsOrganize and facilitate regular meetings with staff to ensure work plans are being adhered to or modified as needed, vision and goals are knows, objectives are well prioritized, and tasks are well managedDevelop tools to better communicate and provide resources to all staffFiscal Responsibilities :
Formulates, administers, and monitors budget for membership, health & wellnessEstablish, meet and / or exceed predetermined budgeted numbers, mutually agreed upon with Executive Director and Vice PresidentFacility / Housekeeping Responsibilities :
Ensure a safe, clean environment for all members in all areas including equipment maintenanceCommunicate to appropriate staff facility issues which need to be addressed in a timely mannerInterdivisional / Community / Volunteer Responsibilities :
Actively participate in the Y's Annual Campaign individually, through staff team, and by leading the special events committee in at least two fundraising events annuallyActively promotes the integration of membership, health & wellness, Kidzone and program functions with all departments through communication, and strategic planning to ensure growth, mutual success, and productive, professional relationshipsMaintains and fosters partnerships in the communityCultivates, trains and evaluates volunteers for program involvement and Ambassador rolesYmca Careers
