Job Description
The teacher is responsible for implementing daily lesson plans that correlate with our established curriculum and providing a high-quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values : honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
You will also be responsible for teaching children using developmentally appropriate practices while upholding PA DPW regulations and assisting with moving the site forward in PA Keystone STARS. The position will also allow for more responsibilities and room for career growth in our childcare program and throughout the Y.

Qualifications
1. Experience working with children and CDA preferred
2. Experience working in a large group setting
3. Current Criminal Background, FBI, Child Abuse Clearances
4. Strong, motivated, goal-orientated personality
Essential Functions
1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
2. Implements daily lesson / activity plans.
3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities ensuring the safety of children and coworkers.
4. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child in compliance with PA DPW and Keystone STARS.
5. Engages parents.
6. Works with other staff to manage the classroom.
7. Maintains program site and equipment.
8. Maintains required program records
9. Attends and participates in special events, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
10. Will complete in house trainings within 6 months of hire.
11. Will donate to the Annual Campaign and assist a team leader to recruit other donors.
12. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
