What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Program Director (Full Time) - Central Branch YMCA position at YMCA?
The Central YMCA is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill the position of Wellness Director to grow the current wellness programming including group exercise, personal training, wellness coaching and wellness focused events.
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Four-year degree preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
One to two years related leadership experience preferred.
Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm. An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively
Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Nurture: Oversee the hiring, training, and development of part time wellness staff.
Motivate: Work alongside the instructors, wellness coaches and assistant to keep the wellness areas clean and efficient, help members meet their wellness goals and grow participation in classes
Build: Develop, implement and promote successful wellness programs and events to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
Engage: As the main face of wellness programming the Wellness Director should build relationships with members, support staff, be positive, friendly, and helpful
