We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our prestigious facial plastic surgery practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to ensure seamless patient care. You will work directly under the supervision of our board-certified facial plastic surgeon and collaborate with the rest of the medical team. Your main goal will be to contribute to an exceptional patient experience by delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Prepare patients for examinations and minor procedures by taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and explaining the process.
  • Assist the surgeon during procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are readily available.
  • Sterilize and set up instruments, maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, and adhere to infection control guidelines.
  • Remove sutures, change dressings, and provide wound care instructions as directed by the physician.
  • Monitor patient recovery and comfort, reporting any concerns to the surgeon or nurse promptly.

Patient Interaction & Education

  • Greet and guide patients through the office, creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions, answering questions and clarifying instructions to ensure proper patient compliance.
  • Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating any necessary referrals.

    • Administrative & Record-Keeping

  • Update patient files in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies, ordering replacements as needed and tracking usage.
  • Collaborate with the front desk team to organize patient flow, ensure timely appointments, and manage patient billing or insurance queries.

    • Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • Follow the practice’s standards for patient safety, quality control, and office protocols.

    • Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
  • Experience
  • Previous experience in a surgical or cosmetic practice is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with facial plastic surgery procedures and terminology is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information.

    • Available shifts and compensation : Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation depends on your experience.
