Description : JOB SUMMARY :

The Lab Technician is responsible for testing and inspecting aggregate and asphalt materials to determine if their characteristics, properties, and quality adhere to federal, state, and / or customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Quality control of aggregate and asphalt products.
Perform sampling and testing in accordance with Penn DOT, AASHTO, and company methods and procedures.
Responsible for communicating with plants to ensure accuracy of materials being produced and shipped.
Complete governmental and customer reports on test results.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS :

1-2 years of experience in a lab position.

NECEPT Level 1 certification required.

Aggregate Technician Certification preferred.

Work exceptionally well with employees, customers and business associates at all levels with a professional attitude.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

Work independently, follow through on assignments with minimal direction, and set priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

Must be able to perform under deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Fluency in Microsoft Office Software.

Must be able to work overtime during peak times.
