K-8 STEAM & ELA Summer Camps in all four Philadelphia Counties
YMWIC is hosting the 13th Annual Summer Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math and ELA summer camps for students rising to the 1st- 8th grades as of September, 2025. All curriculum and kits are defined and purchased in advance. YMWIC is looking to fully staff our sites located in the counties of Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia.
Important Requirements: Candidates will have the following:
- Highly proficient using online tools while proficient using Microsoft products such as Microsoft word, outlook, PowerPoint and excel.
- Support up to 20 junior campers in a class setting.
- Provide interactive and hands on workshop experiences using the YMWIC curriculum.
- Assign and administer projects to junior campers while monitoring progress.
- Supervise junior counselors who are in place to assist lesson plans and activities.
- Administer a pre and post math and language arts assessments with report.
- Provide weekly activity reports and newsletter to illustrate camper progress and performance meets YMWIC requirements.
- Participate in mandatory kick off meetings and staff meetings.
- Chaperone during weekly day trips to local sites in the Philadelphia and suburban region.
Note: College STEM related students pursuing Education Degree or BS degree are welcome to apply.
Note 2: Candidates with a PA Emergency Certification holding a BS Degree are welcome to apply.
Essential Requirements:
- Recent or pending State Certification in elementary or secondary education.
- BS degree in elementary or secondary education from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in a classroom setting using lesson plans and remediation tools and techniques.
- Proof of child abuse, FBI and applicable background checks are recent.
- Available for training prior to the start of the camp.
Personnel:
- Bi-Weekly Pay based on a full week from 07:45 am up-to 4:30 pm
- Some sites may operate during Monday-Thursday due to closure
- Pay day is biweekly
- $850/week as W9 (contractor) status
- Off on July 4th
