SUMMARY: Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation (Yocha Dehe or Tribe) is a federally recognized tribal government. The Tribe’s mission is to provide for the health and welfare of its people, to govern its own lands and affairs with sovereign independence and in a manner consistent with its cultural values, and to enhance and diversify its economy for the overall good of the nation. Yocha Dehe’s governing body, its elected Tribal Council, is charged with implementing this mission. As a federally-recognized tribe, Yocha Dehe exercises a government-to-government relationship with the United States, as well as with the State of California and local governments, and the Tribe actively engages with outside agencies and officials, local stakeholders and members of the public.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Custodian is responsible for providing a safe and healthy work environment for all Tribal employees by providing institutional cleaning services for all classroom, office, kitchen, meeting, and restroom areas within government buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for performing classroom, office, meeting room, circulation, and general space cleaning as follows:
- Emptying waste receptacles
- Dusting
- Vacuuming
- Sweeping and damp mopping
- Cleaning windows and interior glass
- Remove cobwebs
- Cleans and disinfects kitchen and restrooms as follows:
- Empty waste receptacles
- Restock paper products and soap
- Clean and disinfect all fixtures
- Wash dishes and utensils
- Dust
- Sweep and mop floors
- Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and tools in custodial lockers.
- Reports malfunctioning restroom of kitchen equipment for repairs.
- Reports and interior damage to finishes or surfaces for repairs.
- Prepares coffee in kitchen areas
- Stocks drink and snack supplies in refrigerators
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of experience in commercial or institutional cleaning. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Communication and Comprehension Skills
- Establishes and maintains a positive and cooperative working relationship with members of Department and Tribal community.
- Effectively communicates orally, in writing and electronically.
- Schedules, and performs cleaning maintenance work.
- Makes recommendations for selection of cleaning supplies and materials.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, peers, and Tribal members.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for mixing chemical cleaning solutions.
Computer Skills
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office sufficient to use email and write memos and reports.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Individuals must be able to successful pass the Tribal Gaming Agency (TGA) Background Check and possess a valid California driver’s license.
