Banquet Captain

JOB TITLE: Banquet Captain/Server

REPORTS TO: GM, Head Chef & Ownership

JOB TYPE: Part Time to Start

EXPERIENCE: Server Experience Required, Banquet Captain Experience a Plus

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

LICENSE(S): Valid Driver’s License & ServSaf Certification Required

SCHEDULE: Short Shifts, Weekdays, Weekend/Weekdays, On-Call

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: 123 Room Full Service Hotel, Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, Indoor Pool and Hot Tub, Multiple Conference/Meeting Rooms, Landscaped Common Areas, Two Parking Lots

Job Responsibilities:

· Oversee banquet events and ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service

· Coordinate and ensure setup and take down of all events

· Train and mentor new team members

· Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure high standards are met

· Handle and report customer feedback to management and resolve any immediate issues per company policies

· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages

· Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment

· Be able to assist in restaurant and lounge service needs when called upon

· Ability to carry out position for both on and off site events

· Adhere to health and safety regulations

Skills:

· Food service management

· Excellent customer service

· Banquet set up and aesthetic food presentation

· Ability to learn the POS quickly

· Knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques to ensure quality and safety standards are met

· Catering experience of various size groups

· Bartending experience a plus

· Cooking / Pastry chef experience a plus

· Ability to work well with management and colleagues and foster a positive environment – no drama

· Reliability and flexibility is required. Substance abuse issues need not apply.

Physical Requirement / Work Environment:

Position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Position requires continuous standing, walking, bending, overhead work, climbing stairs, handling items, grasping, lifting up to 30lbs, and repetitive motions. Candidate must have full use of all limbs and faculties.

No substance abuse issues, may not be on the job impaired in any way.

Compensation: $16/hr plus excellent Tips. Position is currently Part Time but can quickly lead to full time as the season progresses.
