Yoh Scientific is actively recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator to work a long term contract assignment in Richmond, CA.
Title : Chemical Process Operator
Location : Richmond, CA
Work Schedule, Full-time. Two shifts available :
1st shift : M-F; 6 a.m. to 2 : 30 p.m.
2nd shift : M-F : 2 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 30 pm.
Duration : One year assignment with potential for extension.
Pay Rate Range : $28 - $34 / hour, based on experience.
Chemical Process Operator will be an important production team player at chemical plant where process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products are produced. Operator will operate, monitor, control, and troubleshoot batch and continuous chemical processes.
Responsibilities :
- Work with high collaboration and teamwork within the CPO group and other departments to help achieve business goals.
- Champion the site's safety culture by following all safety policies. Proactively identify and report potential safety issues. Follow all procedures when handling chemicals to ensure all chemicals are disposed of according to regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols of the production process, especially on storing chemicals, recording information in SAP, operating machines, and disposing of materials, chemicals, and biologics. Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain a level of operational discipline while executing assigned tasks that are performed according to standard operating procedures. You will weigh, measure, prepare, mix, monitor, and adjust chemical materials while operating large-scale reactors and other equipment used to produce life science research products.
- Collect samples of chemical solutions prepared and perform in-line product testing to resolve simple chemical issues before completing the production process.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of required policies, procedures, quality standards, documentation practices, and safety environmental regulations as required by local, federal, and company regulations.
- Communicates inventory, planning, and quality issues to supervisor or appropriate department partner.
- Performs basic troubleshooting and repair of equipment, escalating to maintenance, as required.
