Loan Application Review:
- Review and analyze loan applications to ensure compliance with FHA guidelines.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
- Assess the creditworthiness of applicants based on financial information, credit reports, and other relevant factors.
- Evaluate the risk associated with each loan application and make recommendations for approval or denial
- Identify and communicate potential issues or discrepancies in loan files
- Collaborate with senior underwriters to address complex underwriting scenarios.
- Communicate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to gather additional information or clarification on loan applications
- Provide clear and concise explanations for underwriting decisions.
- Ensure that all underwriting decisions and documentation are in compliance with FHA regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate and organized underwriting files
- Stay informed about changes in FHA guidelines and underwriting practices.
- Participate in training programs to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (preferred).
- 1-3 years of previous experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field.
- Familiarity with FHA guidelines and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
