Job Description : Senior Systems Engineer
Schedule : This role offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
Overview : The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring high availability and performance in mixed UNIX and Windows environments. This role involves working with a service-delivery team to support configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and deploying large-scale DNS systems, with a deep understanding of DNS protocols and a proven track record in DNS configuration, management, and migrations.
Responsibilities :
- Design and implement enterprise-level DNS systems for high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage IP Address Management (IPAM) solutions.
- Configure and manage DNS zones, including domain transfers and migrations.
- Optimize system performance and security using advanced DNS techniques.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of DNS protocols and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python.
- Investigate and adopt new technologies / tools as needed.
- Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24 / 7 environment.
- Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions.
- Support and coordinate with developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users.
- Educate and mentor team members and operations staff.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle priorities effectively.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail and maintain excellent organizational skills.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals and maintain system integrity.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
