Software Engineer - ESXi VMKernel
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in C Programming: Strong experience with C programming, including scripting languages like Python and shell scripting for automation tasks.
- Operating Systems and Kernel Internals: Deep understanding of OS internals, especially Linux/BSD/Windows NT, and experience working on kernel-level components.
- Microprocessor Architectures: Solid knowledge of modern microprocessor architectures, including multiprocessor programming, cache architectures, and memory barriers.
- Hardware Bring-Up and System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with hardware bring-ups (CPU, boot loaders, SMP/NUMA, interrupt controllers, chipsets, PCIe, UEFI).
- Experience and Education: 6-8 years of relevant industry experience and a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Debugging and Analytical Skills: Strong debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot build issues, performance optimization, and automation scripts.
- Experience with Version Control Systems: Familiarity with tools like Git, Gerrit, or Perforce for collaborative code reviews and version control.
- Familiarity with System Performance Analysis: Knowledge of performance tuning and workload optimization for modern computing systems.
- Cross-Geo Collaboration and Partner Engagement: Experience collaborating with distributed teams and external partners like ARM or Intel.
Estimated Min Rate: $119,000 Annually
Estimated Max Rate: $190,000 Annually
