We have a contract opportunity for a Tissue Culture Tech in Gainesville GA. This position is approved for 6 months and could be extended. In addition, there is a good possibility to be hired directly by the client.
Pay Rate:
$19.00 - $20.00/Hr.
Schedule:
Monday - 7:00AM - 5:00PM
Tuesday - 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Wednesday - 7:00AM - 2:30PM
Thursday - 7:00AM - 5:00PM
Friday - 7:00AM -12:30PM
Labs rotate coming in at 6am and some overtime should be expected. There is rotated weekend work once technicians are trained. It's typically 6 or 7a until 10am on Saturday and 6a or 7a until 11am on Sunday. The techs working the weekend get the prior Wednesday off.
Job Description:
Assists in all areas in the production of Marek's disease vaccine, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Utilizes sterile technique at all times.
- Active knowledge of working under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environment.
- Communicates any occurrence to team leader and/or supervisor immediately.
- Responsible for keeping the lab clean and sterile.
- Individual monthly responsibilities are assigned in each lab.
- Individual must ensure these activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assists in receiving roller bottles in labs and receiving roller bottles in holding area.
- Assists with the candling and racking of eggs in Incubation department.
- Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records.
- Promotes safety and awareness in the lab, acting in occurrence with safety practices.
Skills:
Individual need to be trained in a timely manner on sterile technique and general lab procedures.
Able to lift 50 lbs. and carry it 10 ft.
Stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile environment.
Flexible with work schedule. This position requires weekend work.
Regular attendance is necessary.
Education: HS Diploma and college a plus
