Y-ATG (Alliance, Galaxy, and Primex) is hiring a Field Service Engineer in North America. Y-ATG is a distinguished brand in the OHT segment across the globe and were brought together under the Yokohama - OHT (YOHT) banner, in a phased manner. We are an ambitious, fast growing and internationally oriented organization. Our team consist of internal, highly qualified professionals with a focus on sales and business development.
The Field Service team provides application engineering expertise, evaluates product performance, evaluates quality issues, and ensures a level of service which meet our customers’ expectations. The Field Engineer works closely with tire design engineers, quality management team and manufacturing personnel (overseas teams) to ensure the product is performing to the customer and market’s expectations. 50% of working hours are spent making visits to the field to understand how Y-ATG products are being utilized and evaluating the products performance in real world applications. The remaining time is spent planning field evaluations, analysing claim and test data, reporting, and providing technical support to internal and external customers. All field services team members are expected to function independently with high level guidance from top level management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to field sales staff and customers in North America.
- Plan, conduct, and report results of field investigations.
- Analyse test and claim data to convey tire performance to internal and external customers as appropriate.
- Provide On-site warranty support for OE and AM distributors/customers
- Proactive customer engagement to determine any perceived/actual product issues and their resolution.
- Identify opportunities for product improvement and advocate for changes.
- Plan, conduct and report on competitive benchmark testing in collaboration with regional sales and product management teams.
- Support organization, planning, and conducting training sessions for sales and customers.
- Evaluate use and maintenance conditions to make product recommendations and/or recommendations regarding use and maintenance that will improve product performance.
- Assist in conducting customer satisfaction surveys.
- Any other duties as assigned by corresponding management.
Essential knowledge and skills
- Mechanical aptitude. Background with commercial vehicles and applications and/or tire products involved in agricultural, construction, forestry, market segments.
- Ability to communicate at a high level, both technically and commercially applying discretion for the current audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.
- Data driven, detail oriented, self-motivated, organized.
- Ability to work in cross culture environment with manufacturing and development departments overseas
Education and Experience
- BS degree in engineering, math, or science.
- 3 years of relevant tire experience.
- Ability to travel 50% in throughout North America to customer/dealer locations
- Able to handle heavy tires, tire and wheel assemblies, and proficiency in utilizing tools and relevant equipment.
- Ability to physically manipulate heavy tires, cut tires for analysis, handle large sections of cut tires, manipulate tire and wheel assemblies.
- High proficiency in conducting data analysis and creating technical reports.
