Description
Note: This is a continuous or open until filled recruitment; however, the first application review cutoff date is February 28, 2025. In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that will be utilized to fill other vacancies as they occur.
The Position
The vacant GIS Analyst I position will spend approximately fifty percent (50%) of its time supporting projects from the Assessor, Clerk-Recorder, and Elections Department, especially pertaining to tax parcels and elections. Duties include creating spatial data, performing analysis, creating web applications, configuring mobile applications, and automating repetitive tasks. The ideal candidate for this position will:
- be an experienced GIS Analyst with positive attitude and strong teamwork
- possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with management and elected officials
- have experience working with a county's Assessor, Clerk-Recorder, and/or Elections' Office
- have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to interpret functional requirements into technical solutions
- be able to manage competing projects and adapt to changing priorities
Essential Functions
Employment Standards
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis. One year of education consists of 30 semester units or 45 quarter units.
License: This classification requires incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
