Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance is seeking a part-time Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. This position is open to fill immediately and will run through June 2025 with possibility to continue.
About Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance:
YHAA is a nonprofit whose mission is to promote the wellbeing of older adults through education, collaboration, and advocacy, serving as the unified voice for older adults in Yolo County. We work to identify and address gaps in services and connect people to the many resources and services throughout the County.
Duties of the Community Outreach Specialist will include the following:
- Assists with development and execution of YHAA programs, including our Mobile Meals for Healthy Aging, Senior Technology Resources and Assistance, and Emergency Preparedness programs.
- Tracks and maintains comprehensive and accurate records of outreach activities and reports for grant reports
- Coordinates the phone system and interacts with program participants in a professional manner
- Attends staff meetings, workshops, and trainings as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Position Description:
This is a part-time position scheduled for 10-15 hours per week Monday-Friday. Must be available for in-person events and have reliable transportation. This is a hybrid position with both in-person and remote work.
Our in-person Mobile Meals for Healthy Aging program schedule is as follows:
- 2nd Thursday of every month in West Sacramento from 10:30am-12:00pm
- 3rd Tuesday of every month in Knights Landing from 7:45am-9:45am
- 3rd Thursday of every month in Esparto 10:15-11am and Woodland 12:45-2pm
- 3rd Friday of every month in Winters 10:45am-2pm
Applicant should be available for most of these Mobile Meals for Healthy Aging dates.
Requirements:
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Digital skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
- Must have own transportation because work responsibilities can require travel throughout Yolo County.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must comply with security and health policies of the organization including Covid-19 immunization
- Must be able to present programs and lead meetings via Zoom and in person.
Preferred:
- Minimum one year of experience working with programs serving the community
- Understanding of aging issues, cultural competence and awareness of issues related to aging
- Experience creating marketing materials
- Bilingual English/Spanish or Russian
Compensation:
$25/hour
