The Food Services Director organizes, plans, directs, controls, and supervises functions and personnel within the dietary department which provides food and nutrition services to residents in a long-term care facility. The Food Services Director leads quality dining programs that will enhance the meal experience for the residents and ensures that the dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities :
Interviews, hires and orients dietary staffTrains workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipmentPlans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the departmentsSupervises and evaluates the quality of work completed by department employeesForecasts and plans the purchase of supplies, and equipmentPlans work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered. Maintains proper staffing levelsMaintains required records including but not limited to; inventory, compliance, income / expense, and personnel recordsConducts regular management staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate dietary activitiesManages a cost-effective program to budgetMaintains the department to be survey-ready at all times, assuring the department operates within federal, state, and local regulationsMaintains excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departmentsActively participates in facility meetings and committeesFollows all Company policies and proceduresPromotes the professional growth and development of the entire departmental teamConducts quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainableReports monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishmentsPromotes and monitors resident satisfactionEnsures that the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary mannerRequirements :
Associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learningFood service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long term care preferredServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant AssociationCertified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, the credentialing agency of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP)Skilled in motivating and supervising staff membersExcellent interpersonal skills, customer service and quality attitudeAbility to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectivesPublic speaking skillsExcellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills requiredAbility to work all shifts as neededProficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookThis posting in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
