Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EMG Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in conducting electromyography (EMG) tests to assess the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, particularly in an emergency medicine setting. The EMG Technician will work closely with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level I or Level II Trauma Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic evaluations.

Responsibilities

Conduct EMG tests and assist in the interpretation of results.
Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
Monitor vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety.
Maintain accurate records of patient assessments and test results.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to discuss findings and treatment plans.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the testing area.
Stay updated on advancements in EMG technology and techniques.

Experience

Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
A solid understanding of physiology and anatomy is necessary to accurately assess patient conditions.
Previous experience in emergency medicine or working within a trauma center is highly desirable.
Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques, including CT scans, is a plus.
