What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stationary Equipment Mechanic position at York Building Products?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Diagnose, repair and maintain fixed plant equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and run tests after making repairs or performing maintenance.
- Fabricates, modifies, and installs new/used equipment and replacement parts using torch, welders, plasma cutters, hand and power tools, etc.
- Operate mobile equipment such as manlifts, telehandlers, and skid steers to complete required projects.
- Perform general mine plant repairs and maintenance including conveyor pulley replacements, bearing changes, chute repairs, conveyor belt installs.
- Conducts MSHA pre/post shift safety inspections of work areas and equipment.
- Ability to check, repair or replace pumps.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of fixed equipment repair and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds.
- Must possess the ability to solve mechanical problems quickly and independently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
- The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
- Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
