This full-time position is an entry-level position responsible for contributing to the overall recruitment efforts of the College, and planning and implementing procedures and programs for attracting and matriculating a diverse and talented new-student class. During a typical recruitment cycle, the Admission Counselor will travel approximately 25% of the time.

- Interview prospective students and increase inquiry pool, successfully manage inquiries, applicants, and outreach initiatives. Review, prepare and route completed applicant files to admissions committee for review. Remain current with trends in higher education. 25%
- Present information about York to groups of students, parents, educators, and alumni. Correspond with students, alumni, parents, and educators. Follow-up with students using current contact management guidelines. 25%
- Develop and maintain working relationships with high school counselors and maintain market research on primary geographical territory. 15%
- Assist with scholarship program and financial aid follow-up. 5%
- Work effectively within a team environment and participate in the planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus recruitment events. 5%
- Demonstrate a commitment to recruiting a diverse student population. 5%
- Ability to design and implement admission recruitment programs independently. 7%
- Assist in the development of department policy, procedure, and workflow. 5%
- Serve as a liaison to several designated areas outside of Enrollment Management. 5%

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time, with some weekends and evenings required
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and serve as a team member across the Division of Enrollment Management
