DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in administering all aspects of the varsity women’s basketball program; and performing assigned administrative duties within the Athletics & Recreation Department.

Assistant Basketball Coach (90%)
The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in administering all aspects of the varsity women’s basketball program; and performing assigned administrative duties within the Athletics & Recreation Department.

- Effective support for the Athletics & Recreation Department through administrative duties.
Assistant Basketball Coach (90%)
- Coaching student-athletes in practice and in competition--primarily teaching skills and strategies, providing guidance in physical and mental development, and conveying program values.
- Provide academic and appropriate personal guidance.
- Scout, identify, and communicate with prospective student-athletes and their families.
- General organization, scouting opponents, practice planning, travel coordination, etc.
- Assist department directors in one of the following areas: event management, departmental fundraising, strength and conditioning coaching, admissions collaboration, camp coordination, compliance assistance.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in organized, competitive basketball.
- Thorough understanding of NCAA governing rules.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Ability to coach and teach; appropriate knowledge and effective communication/interaction skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collegiate setting with enrolled and prospective students and their families, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and the greater College community.
- Commitment to professionalism and serving as a positive role model.
