Terms of Employment:
240 days; salary paid on Administrative Support scale group 1 and work year to be established by the Board
Job Summary:
To provide support of the school's administrative functions; ensure efficient operation of support functions; documenting and communicating information, coordinating projects and site activities; researching a variety of topics; and determining appropriate action/referral to achieve resolution.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of basic office procedures, basic accounting, typing, and a variety of computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Perform difficult, complex, confidential, and responsible clerical and secretarial work independently and effectively.
- Such an alternative to the above qualifications as the Principal may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties:
- Supports assigned administrative personnel aiding with their administrative functions.
- Coordinates a variety of programs and/or activities (e.g., evaluation process, graduation ceremonies, classroom coverage, bell scheduling) to ensure availability of facilities, and/or equipment and delivering services in conformance with established guidelines.
- Monitors assigned site activities and/or program components (e.g., budget, timesheets, teacher and parent orientation materials) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements.
- Evaluate situations involving (e.g., staff, students, parents, public) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Responds to inquiries (e.g., students, parents, vendors, and staff) to provide information and/or direction in response to requests.
- Prepares written materials (e.g., correspondence, Board Reports) to document activities and to provide written reference of information.
- Compiles data from a variety of sources (e.g., discipline, awards, budget) to comply with financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements.
- Maintains documents, files, and records (confidential and non-confidential) (e.g., personnel files, payroll, key logs) to provide current reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Schedules a variety of activities (e.g., meetings, travel arrangements, staff coverage, facilities usage) to meet staff needs and efficient utilization of personnel, facilities, and equipment.
- Oversees office staff, student workers, and volunteers to maximize the efficiency of the workforce and to meet operational requirements.
- Orients new site personnel regarding appropriate school and district practices to effectively assimilate new personnel into site operations.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
- Assists other personnel as may be required to support them in the completion of their work activities.
- Manages coverage of classrooms and other areas by substitute teachers.

Physical Requirements:
Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations.
Working Conditions:
- Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
- Requires fine finger dexterity to use office equipment, and office technology, and maintain accurate filing systems.
- Effectively coordinate a variety of difficult, technical administrative functions at a level requiring extensive independent decision-making within established rules, policies, and procedures
- Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- May experience constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines.
