Job Description:
This is a full-time position in the Department of Human Resources, York County, VA.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform multi-faceted human resources functions and administrative work to assist the Director in the overall operations of the department.
- Research, plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and manage human resources programs and policies related to functional areas of the department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business or public administration, or a closely related field.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources administration and management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid professional human resources certification from SHRM, PSHRA, HRCI, World at Work or other acceptable association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and thorough knowledge and experience in the functional areas of human resources, preferably in a local government setting.
Work Environment:
The employee must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including an automobile, computers, calculators, etc.
