What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Clerk I (Case Management) position at York County?
Performs a variety of clerical and financial work in the Case Management Division, which includes filing new cases, setting up financial accounts, preparing court orders, and processing court orders. Employee must exercise independent judgment in completing assignments. Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with legal community, state and local agencies, and the general public.
High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years experience in secretarial or clerical work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must have the ability to read and comprehend Court Orders and the Code of Virginia.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the general public.
Ability to use personal and peripheral computer equipment and word processing and spreadsheet software with reasonable speed and accuracy.
Requires an acceptable criminal background check.
