What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Supervisor (Part-time) (New Quarter Park) position at York County?
Manages the daily operation of New Quarter Park located in the upper end of York County. Responsibilities include directing staff, assigning work tasks, developing work schedules, and assisting the Recreation Supervisor in monitoring and evaluating park staff. Assists customers at the counter and over the telephone, makes shelter reservations, collects fees, and direct patrons to park amenities. Responsible for educating park patrons on park ordinances and enforces all park rules and regulations. Monitors and inspects the park for violations of county ordinances and any suspicious activity or disturbances. Maintains the cleanliness of the park and park facilities; picks up litter, empties trash cans, cleans restrooms and shelters. Opens and closes the park as needed. Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school graduate or equivalent and some work experience involving public contact, general record keeping and cash handling; or any combination of training and experience.
Working knowledge of operating a park or similar facility required.
Must be disciplined, reliable, self-motivated and have excellent customer service skills.
Possession a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record mandatory.
Requires an acceptable criminal background check. Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings and weekends.
DMV records and criminal background checks conducted prior to employment.Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are those for Medium Work.
