York Hospital has a new opening for a Prescription Assistance Counselor. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week opening and is located in York, Maine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the initial application and renewal process with patients for pharmaceutical patient assistance programs. Coordinate with York Hospital providers to complete the necessary paperwork.
- Provide other resources to patients for help with prescription drug costs such as plan education, manufacturer co-pay cards, low cost generic drug programs, independent co-pay assistance foundations
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for hospital staff regarding prescription drug affordability programs.
- Collect program utilization data and prepare ad hoc, monthly and annual reports.
- Community and provider outreach to increase awareness of the prescription assistance program.
- Obtain and subsequently maintain Maine Enrollment Assister and State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselor Certification
- Screen patients for eligibility for state and federal programs and assist with applications for Medicare, Medicare Savings Program, MaineCare and Marketplace
- During annual Open Enrollment Period review Medicare and Marketplace options with patients and complete enrollments
- Collect program utilization data and prepare ad hoc, monthly and annual reports.
- Support Health Care Help Center team, as needed:
- Good Faith Estimates (GFEs)
- Patient outreach for those patients listed on the self-pay report.
Education/Licensure/Certifications/Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in social services, pharmacy or the healthcare field preferred or relevant experience in the healthcare environment.
- Maine Enrollment Assister and State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselor Certification (can be obtained upon employment).
