What are the responsibilities and job description for the Urology Technician position at York Hospital?

The UT works with the care team in providing a wide variety of clinical and technical support functions in the delivery of care within the practice.
Some essential functions of the Urology Technician (UT) include:
- Preform initial patient intake inclusive of rooming patients
- Follow-up on test results and schedule further appointments or consultations
- Assist with patient registry management
- With the assistance of a peer, on a daily basis manage 25 - 30 procedural patients
- Prepare procedure rooms with the necessary supplies, equipment, etc. for each unique procedure
- Contacts vendor with equipment issues and communicates to staff and care teams
- Prepares Urology suites and assists with Urology procedures
- Orders procedural and other supplies for Urology practice
- Cleans urological instruments using proper precautions, sterile technique, and appropriate cleaning agents
In order to help us continue to provide exceptional patient care experiences, we are looking for:
Associate's degree or higher education preferred, high school diploma or GED also accepted.
Two or more years related experience and/or training in the practice setting preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
