WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Reviews and provides comments on designs, specifications, drawings, reports and plans during all phases of Capital Delivery including environmental assessment studies, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
• Participates and consolidates Water and Wastewater (WWW) Operations comments during all phases of the capital projects including identification, evaluation and selection of alternative solutions and design concepts.
• Assists in the preparation and review of anticipated construction schedules, including sequencing with analysis of the operational impacts and resources required by WWW Operations.
• Participates in the review of construction packages including tendering, commissioning, close-out, etc.
• Performs periodic evaluations of resource allocation, demand, and availability of staff time for specific project activities, for the Program Manager.
• Coordinates WWW operations staff for review of design deliverables and construction documents related to capital projects
• Represents water and wastewater operational interests in meetings and communications with CD Branch’s, contractors, consultants, other municipalities, agencies, developers, and property owners/residents as it relates to capital projects.
• Participates on project teams and other cross-functional groups, as required, to facilitate the progress of new and ongoing programs and initiatives.
• Participates in task groups and teams for the Branch and Department; undertakes specialized assignments and represents the Branch and Department at seminars, workshops, meetings etc., as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma Program in Civil Engineering, Environmental or Applied Science Technology or related field or approved combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in project/program management and implementation in any or all aspects of municipal water and wastewater system planning, design and construction, environmental assessments, partnership development and collaboration.
• Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, and treatment systems including operations, maintenance, and design.
• Ability to review, interpret and critique technical reports and engineering drawings. 
• Sound knowledge of project management principles as well as water conservation and efficiency, sustainability, inflow infiltration reduction, urban and regional land use planning.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
